I came across this book by social media recommendation. While I know this book is not wholly directed my way, as Hersey points out, we all benefit from the liberation from systematic oppression. I found it interesting to read about rest as a means of anti-capitalist protest. It wasn't until I started talking to people outside of America that I realized how deeply we are tied to our occupations, defining ourselves by our jobs. How we value productivity by the grind, making our successes by what we have accomplished and completed, rather than the moments and activities we enjoy. I found the perspective quite fascinating, especially the connection to history and culture. I do imagine how I might be able to put such a theory into practice.
