#1 - Crowns of Nyaxia
I wanted to like this one more than I did. Perhaps it's because I'm reading a lot of similar books in quick succession but they all start to feel a little reskinned. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. I like the vampire element, I enjoy the Hunger Games element, and we have an enemies-to-lovers trope going on here. It also felt a little ACOTAR. I like Oraya's demeanor and feisty nature and the backstory for both Oraya and Raihn is intriguing. I just didn't feel the connection that I usually do. Obviously, this is still somewhat of an introduction and there is more political intrigue going on here, which I expect will be explored in the second novel. I am curious enough to want to continue the series.
