I liked this one. I've been meaning to read it since I first saw it in another teacher's ELA classroom. She had mentioned that she taught it on the regular and I thought I should read it along with FREAK THE MIGHTY. This wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be but it wasn't a difficult read. Creech nicely weaves a tale from the mouth of an adolescent to her grandparents as they travel not only across the land but across family memories. I liked the relationships that were shown here. It's an interesting book - though not necessarily one I would gravitate towards for teaching.
